A Look Back at 2019

It has been an amazing year! Looking back over the past 12 months, it’s hard to believe the whirlwind of of craziness.

Personally, this was the first year I wrote full-time and it was the best thing ever! I was so happy being able to focus all of my professional energy on books. It’s what I’ve dreamed of since I was just a little tyke scribbling out stories in a battered old notebook. Definitely hard to believe I’m here now and doing the thing I love.

And thanks to being able to write full-time, I can now churn out more and more books each year for readers, both working solo and writing with Rinda Elliott. In 2019, hundreds of thousands of words were written, THREE series were completed, and a pile of audio books were released.

Because of the flurry of releases, I thought I’d recap all the new stuff that “hit the shelves” in 2019 in case readers missed something.

Christmas Magic

Noble is a sweet Christmas romance written by Rinda Elliott. It’s her first Christmas novella and I think it was adorably sweet and super sexy.

Samuel Dunham fled his foster home at 19, heartbroken. The cause of his pain? The B&B’s big, shy caretaker, Nolan Sadler. Revealing his feelings for the man hadn’t just been embarrassing, it had been a disaster.

Older and wiser, Samuel has vowed to keep his heart safe. But the sudden death of the B&B owner forces Samuel home, where he must face Nolan.

Defrosting Jack is my newest Christmas novella for the Ice and Snow Christmas series.

Jack is a newly divorced, single dad trying to get back into the dating game. He’s just a little worried he’s out of step with how it all works now.

He thinks he’s found a new friend and wing man in Corbin, but his unexpected attraction to the younger man proves he could have so much more.

The Ice and Snow Christmas series is now complete and you can start reading the enter series right now by clicking here.

Unbreakable Bonds

It’s hard to believe after so many books, but the Unbreakable Bonds series is finally complete. We’ve had the chance to revisit with all the couples and make sure they are set safely on the path to their happily ever after. And, of course, we made sure that each couple got to go out with a bang! Bring on the duct tape and explosions.

With Fracture, we brought the fight to Jude and his family. The paramedic must uncover who nearly killed his brother and make sure the threat is removed. And every step of the way, he has his General to keep him safe and grounded. Even if it means protecting Jude’s very soul.

With Ignite, an old flame returns from Noah’s past with news that someone is killing off their old Ranger squad. Noah and Rowe race to stop a dangerous killer while trying to answer some difficult questions about their own relationship.

And finally, Rialto brings the series to a close with Ian and Hollis. Someone is targeting Ian’s restaurant, trying to systematically destroy the life he’s built for himself and the man he loves. The Unbreakable Boys jump into one last adventure to protect their youngest member.

Ward Security

The action kept flowing with Ward Security in 2019 with the release of a novella, a short story collection, and one new novel.

Jackson was a novella we previously gave away on Prolific Works, but we released it over on Amazon in 2019 so readers could meet the newest bodyguard to join Ward Security.

King of Romance was a fun short story collection we pulled together and previously gave away on Prolific Works. We released it on Amazon in 2019. It focuses on answering the critical question of which of the Ward Security boys is the King of Romance when it comes to Valentine’s Day.

Killer Bond drew inspiration from James Bond in this opposites attract adventure. Daniel is the accountant for Ward Security and he thinks he’s found a simple, hot hook-up while on vacation. What he’s done is fall into a deadly international game of cat and mouse with spies.

Pineapple Grove

Rinda and I took a little time to head back to Pineapple Grove, South Florida in 2019. We needed some sun, surf, and sexy times.

Drew & Mr. Grumpy was a novella that we released through Prolific Works and then moved to Amazon in 2019. This opposites attract story tells of how the perky Drew finally won over the extremely grumpy chef at at Wilton Cottage.

All for Wesley is the second full-length novel in the Pineapple Grove series. The enemies-to-lovers story pits B&B owner Wesley against hotel property developer Nathan. Wesley will do anything to protect his precious B&B, but when he falls for the sexy man, he begins to wonder if getting his happily ever after is impossible.

Exit Strategy

The Exit Strategy series was my solo assassin series and I was excited to finish up the romance of Justin and his G Love.

Lover Calling is a novella that immediately follows the events of Deadly Lover, where Justin flies to London to enjoy a couple “quiet” days with Gabriel. Of course, things go a little wrong along the way.

Vengeful Lover is the second full-length novel in which Justin and Gabriel team up to remove the threats to Gabriel’s life and anything that can stop them from finally being together.

Final Lover is the exciting conclusion to the Exit Strategy series. Gabriel and Justin are trying to settle into their relationship and living together. But “one last job” forces them to define exactly what they are looking for in their happily ever after. Of course, that’s assuming they can survive this job.

Lords of Discord

While the Exit Strategy series might be finished, I also had time in 2019 to kick off a brand new series! Beware, we’re dealing with vampires.

My first published books were in the paranormal and I’m excited to be heading back into this genre. The Lords of Discord series follows four brothers who are struggling to protect their family from threats. And it doesn’t hurt if they just happen to find love along the way.

Claiming Marcus was released in late October and Saving Rafe will be out in February or March 2020.

Audio Books

We know that some readers prefer to listen to audio books. Or maybe it’s the only way you’ve got time to devour your favorite books.

Rinda and I have kept that in mind this year and we are excited to announce we have been keeping a steady stream of audio books hitting your ears.

In 2019, we released the first FIVE novels of the Unbreakable Bonds series. If you would like to check out a complete list of all the audio books available for Drake & Elliott, click here.

In addition, I have been steadily releasing the audio books for the Exit Strategy. Deadly Lover and Vengeful Lover both became available in 2019. Final Lover has been submitted to Audible for release and it should be available within the next few days.

2020?

Rinda and I are still working out our plans for the new year, but we’re definitely not done writing. We have a free short story that is slated to come out in January. And that’s not the only free story we have planned for the year! Be sure to keep an eye on the Free Short Story tab on our website or sign up for our newsletter so you don’t miss either of them.

In January, we will share details on a brand new series we will be launching in the new year. Stay tuned for more details!

To all our readers, thank you for an amazing year. We hope that you’ve enjoyed the books we’ve created this years and over the past four years. We have loved this adventure and we can’t wait to share all the other stories we have rattling around in our brains.

And as always… Happy Reading!
