It’s Time to Talk About Torch

cover, guideShatter has skipped among readers for nearly a month now and it has been largely embraced by readers. (Which is not surprising because you just have to love Snow and you have to love Jude.)

And at the end of Shatter, we included the name of book 3 along with an estimated release schedule:

Torch

Coming in Fall 2016

But there was no snippet. No sneak peek to see whose book is coming next and what dangers await this person.

We didn’t do this to be cruel.

We didn’t do this because we didn’t know what was coming next.

We actually had a good chunk of the next book written when Shatter came out. But the text was rough and raw. It wasn’t what I’d call “reader ready.”

But in this day of Internet and social media, when there is silence, others will race to fill the void. And if something is said often enough, it soon moves from speculation to fact without any basis in reality. Some reviewers and readers have speculated on whose book is next.

Rinda and I have NEVER said anywhere whose book is coming up next.

ShiverCoverHowever…

(And this is where you imagine Rinda and I with big Cheshire Cat grins)

However….

We have left a trail for readers to follow. We have left a pretty significant clue for you to ponder and point you in the right direction.

In fact, we started leaving clues back in Shiver as to who gets the next book. We left another clue in Shatter.

Have you figured it out?

Let’s make a game out of it.

In this blog post, leave a message telling me A. Who is the main character of Torch AND B. What’s your logic.  I want to see if you pick up on our clues. This way you can’t win just because you guess A correctly. You gotta get both parts right.

The first person to get it right will win signed copies of both Shiver and Shatter, and …

Rinda and I will officially announce details of Torch, including whose book it is.

Remember the rules! Your entry must be posted to the blog. Comments on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, or email won’t count. You must also answer both A and B.

Also, if you’d like to discuss your thoughts and see the speculation of other readers, be sure to join our Facebook Group, Unbreakable Readers.

And if you haven’t caught it yet, you can read the first free short story for Snow and Jude, called House Hunting With Anna.

  1. A. Ian
    B. My logic is Rowe isn’t ready. He is still grieving from losing his wife and he needs to adjust to his feelings of liking men.

  2. Yip Ian and Hollis. Rowe is not nearly there yet I agree with Dawn. There are lots of things still needing to get in order for him to move forward.
    Can’t wait!

  3. I have tried to wrack my brain to see if this might be a trick, but nothing came up. So I have to agree with the previous fans because my brain had fixated on Ian and Hollis also. Right now Rowe is still trying to put his life back together from his loss.

  4. I am going to go with Ian and Hollis as mentioned Rowe still needs time to grieve. Cannot wait

  5. The M/C is Hollis Banister. There’s an old saying “Carrying a Torch” and Hollis has been showing all the signs. Going to Ian’s restaurant just to get a glimpse of him. He wants to ask Ian out but he doesn’t think he’s good enough. Just his reaction to the pictures of Ian and willing to let Snow take them shows he wants to protect Ian.

I really would hate for it to be Rowe. He really loved Mel and it seems to soon for him to find someone else, especially if it’s a man.

  6. I just wanted to add to my response. I think Hollis may need to seek some dating advice from his “best friend” Snow!!!!

  7. My answer would be Ian and Hollis. I think Rowe is gonna need some time grieving and I think Ian and Hollis are more than ready to stop circling each other. I really hope it’s Ians turn, because I’ve been wanting his story since book 1, which is also when I fell in love with Hollis !!

  8. My answer would be Rowe. I think Rowe needs something to do to keep busy after his wife died. I believe one of the undercover agents that has infiltrated the auction of young men will catch Rowe’s attention and his protection at the same time.

  9. Ian (please let it be my fave!)

As mentioned above Rowe needs time to grieve. It would be nice to see him meet someone who helps him overcome his grief…ready for book 4. 😉

  10. It’s Ian and the Cop Hollis Banner. They have been warning him off since he spotted Ian, and damn near stop talking. Snow even mentioned this thought in the club at the beginning of Shatter. Plus When the Cop went to the stalker’s house with Snow he was super moved and angered by what he saw. Remember snow even told him to make a move if he wanted to because he knew no one with the Cop’s “swagger” so to speak would be really scared to approach him just because the guys said not too. And Ian like him too, he remembered how he likes his coffee after he came to visit at Lucas house. (less)

  11. I think it’s Ian and what comes to mind is Ian grumbling at Lucas and Andrei kissing and saying that a single can only take so much of that stuff. About time to remedy his single status, I’d say. 😉

It doesn’t really matter to me whose book is next as I’ll read it anyway. Sitting on pins and needles here! 🙂

    1. I need to add/clarify something in my comment above: When Ian said that about being single, next thing that happened was Hollis knocking on the door. Great timing! He was let in and stayed for breakfast as Ian asked him to. In a slighty different situation the staying for breakfast could be a first step to remedy Ian’s single status. *g*
Maybe there’s something symbolic in this situation hinting to things to come. 😉

  12. Unless there’s someone new from both books I missed it has to be Ian cuz grief is a wicked thing when you love like Rowe so I can’t see him even getting laid for a while.

  13. Yep Ian and Hollis. In Shatter, the scene at Rialto when everyone comes to visit Ian and Hollis shows up. He goes all possesive male when he sees the sexy body guard and nurse the guys hired for Ian. Then Ian has the chef make something for Hollis because he must love the food since he has been there several times that week. As Lucas points out Hollis must love something else because a cop’s salary couldn’t pay for eating there that much.
